An English elm master salt, probably second half 18th century
The body with reeded ornament, on a stepped foot -- 9.1/8in. (23 cm) high; 6.1/2in. (16.5 cm) diameter
Condition: Some evidence of minor historical worm infestation. A restored area to a knot in the wood to the base, where a composite filling material has been deployed. Other than this minor wear and tear consistent with the pieces age and use.
